SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 8 to mark the grand opening of Courtside Park, a new recreational space designed for players of all ages and skill levels.
The ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at 707 N Norton Ave. Following the event, the park’s basketball and pickleball courts will be open for public use.
Courtside Park features eight fenced pickleball courts, a fenced basketball court, a pavilion with seating, a filtered water station, restrooms, and open green space, according to organizers.
Attendees at the grand opening will also be offered complimentary treats from Pelican’s SnoBalls, which will be on-site during the event.
The park will be open to the public daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The pavilion will be available for rentals, including birthday parties, and pickleball courts may be reserved for tournaments.
