SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A large crowd welcomed Talk to My Lender, powered by Peoples Mortgage, to downtown Sylacauga as the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce combined a ribbon-cutting ceremony with its June Chamber Connections event.
Loan Officers Tanya Barrett, Shonnie McNeill, and Brian York officially joined the downtown business community at 28 N Norton Ave., offering a convenient, customer-friendly location with a full line of home loan products and services.
“This rebranding and new location are designed to make the homeownership process less stressful and more convenient,” Barrett said. “We believe in homeownership as a way to change the trajectory of people’s lives. We literally take you by the hand and lead you through the process, starting with a conversation with our staff of professional lenders.”
The company offers first and second mortgages and has experience with all government-backed loan programs, including FHA, VA, and USDA loans, as well as refinance and home equity programs.
“Our passion is to make homeownership a real possibility,” Barrett said. “There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a family purchase a new home and helping them use that asset as a tool for their future.”

Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Chamber Director Laura Strickland provided an update on several Chamber initiatives.
“The beautiful new mural on The Corner Spot building highlights our unique celebration of America’s 250th birthday,” Strickland said. “Along with our decorative fire hydrant painting program, it has generated a great deal of positive publicity for Sylacauga across the state and nation.”
Strickland also highlighted the upcoming Star Spangled celebration, scheduled for the evening of Friday, June 26.
“It’s sponsored by Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union,” she said. “RadioAlabama is providing a great mix of patriotic music for the celebration, along with family-friendly activities, a fabulous fireworks show to cap the night, and plenty of fan-favorite food trucks. We even have a special new T-shirt for the occasion, available through the Chamber website.”
