Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative is asking for donations to provide relief for those who have been affected by Hurricane Michael. You can drop off donations at the Cooperative office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. this week. The last donations must be dropped off by noon, Friday, October 19. Volunteers plan to deliver the supplies to the Mexico Beach and Port Saint Joe areas of Florida on Saturday.

Sylacauga City Schools Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a benefit 5K / Fun Run on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Legion Stadium. Early bird registration is $25 for the 5K and $20 for the Fun Run which includes a t-shirt. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by the race at 8:00 a.m.

Blue Bell's Community Trunk-or-Treat will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in Central Park. It is free to area children ages 12 and under. Children must be present to receive treats.
