SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Care House of Sylacauga is partnering with the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce to collect donations as the local food pantry prepares Christmas baskets for families in the community.

For nearly 30 years, the annual Christmas basket program has been a vital tradition, providing food assistance to local families during the holiday season. In addition to its year-round assistance, Care House will distribute Christmas baskets on Dec. 14, 15 and 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day.

The program is available to Sylacauga residents only. Those seeking assistance must provide a photo ID and a current utility bill or lease as proof of residency.

Although other nonperishable food items are welcome, the Chamber is specifically asking residents and businesses to donate cans of chicken broth. Donations can be dropped off at the Chamber office on Fort Williams to help meet a specific need for Care House’s annual holiday outreach program.
