SYLACAUGA, Ala. — The Sylacauga Police Department has reported a Friday night shooting at 306 S. Main Ave. in which a 22-year-old was killed in the city’s first homicide of the year.
Nartavius Cortex Fluker-Smith was allegedly shot numerous times by two juveniles while sitting in a 2011 Ford Fusion near his residence.
At approximately 11:00 p.m., Sylacauga Police Department officers responded to a call from Coosa Valley Medical Center and were told that the victim had been brought to the emergency department of CVMC by private vehicle.
SPD has the names of the suspects and is searching for them.
According to his social media profile, Fluker-Smith was a graduate of Sylacauga High School and studied at Auburn University of Montgomery.
