SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A large crowd welcomed Talk to My Lender – Powered by Peoples Mortgage to downtown Sylacauga, as the Chamber combined a ribbon-cutting with the June Chamber Connection event.
Tanya Barrett, LO Shonnie McNeill, and Brian York join the downtown Sylacauga business community at 28 North Norton Avenue, as a convenient new customer-friendly location, featuring a complete line of home loan products and services.
“This rebranding and new location is designed to make the process of home ownership a less stressful and more convenient process,” explained Barrett. “We believe in home ownership as a means to change the trajectory of lives. We literally take you by the hand and lead you through the process, starting with a conversation with our staff of professional lenders.”
They offer first and second mortgages, with experience in al government programs – FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs, as well as refinance and home equity programs, “Our passion is to make home ownership a real possibility. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a family purchase their new home, and helping them use that asset as a tool for their future.”

Prior to the ribbon-cutting, Chamber Director Laura Strickland provided a Chamber Connection update, “The beautiful new mural on the Corner Spot building highlights our unique celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Along with our fun program of decoratively painting fire hydrants have picked up a lot of positive publicity for Sylacauga across the state and nation.”
The “Star Spangled” celebration set for the evening of Friday, June 26th promises to be th best yet, “It’s sponsored by Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union. Radio Alabama is providing a great mix of patriotic music for the celebration, along with friends and family fun with a fabulous fireworks show to cap the night, and plenty of fan favorite food trucks. We even have a special new T-shirt for the occasion, available through the Chamber website.”
