ST. CLAIR COUNTY – A man convicted of murder has escaped from the St. Clair Correctional Facility.
64-year-old Steve Ray Murphy is a white male standing at 5-feet 8-inches tall and weights 157 lbs. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
The Alabama Dept. of Corrections believes he may be wearing white clothes, but has no more information on the escape.
Murphy was sentenced to 999 years, 99 months, and 99 days on on Feb. 1, 1984 for a Colbert Co. murder.
