SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A 55-year-old Sylacauga man died at UAB Hospital on Friday morning after suffering a single gunshot wound to the head on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 720 Billingsley Rd. The body of Lester ‘Tulu’ Wilson is being transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
Sylacauga Police Department investigators and agents from the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force arrested 51-year-old Orethaniel Dell Swain in connection with the shooting death, charging him with Manslaughter, a Class “B” Felony. Swain is being held in the Talladega County Jail on a $15,000 bond set by the Talladega County Circuit Clerk’s Office. If convicted, a prison sentence could range from two to 20 years, along with fines of up to $30,000.
