SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Coosa Valley Medical Center has entered into a partnership with technology company LeoSight, marking the firm’s first expansion into the healthcare sector and bringing its public-safety-focused operational platform into a hospital environment.
The partnership, announced on Monday, Aug. 24, is designed to strengthen security operations, communication, accountability, and situational awareness across the 193-bed medical center. Hospital leaders said the platform will help security and administrative teams coordinate information and responses more effectively during both routine operations and emergency situations.
LeoSight’s technology combines communication tools, incident coordination, workflows, and real-time situational awareness into a single operational environment. Rather than relying on separate systems, users can access critical information and manage activities from one platform.
“Healthcare security is about much more than responding when something goes wrong,” said Glenn Sisk, President and Chief Executive Officer of Coosa Valley Medical Center. “It is about preparation, communication, accountability, and giving our team the tools they need to keep our patients, staff, and visitors safe.”
LeoSight Chief Executive Officer Mark Wood said the partnership highlights similarities between the operational challenges faced by hospitals and those encountered by law enforcement and other public safety agencies.
“People need a shared operational picture, the ability to communicate effectively, clear accountability, and an understanding of what happens next,” Wood said. “That is what LeoSight was built to provide.”
The collaboration will also serve as a development partnership. Coosa Valley Medical Center will provide feedback on the unique operational and security challenges faced by healthcare organizations, helping shape future healthcare applications of the platform.
Chris Carden, LeoSight’s Business Development Manager and a retired Alabama police chief, said the project could help create a model for improving security and operational coordination in hospitals beyond Sylacauga.
The announcement comes as healthcare organizations nationwide continue to focus on workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and the protection of patients, healthcare, workers, and visitors.
