SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga’s Petsense store is expected to shut its doors in early October as part of a nationwide round of closures affecting 75 locations.
The store, which opened in Sylacauga in March 2018, has served local pet owners for more than eight years and has also supported area animal welfare efforts through donations of pet food and supplies.
According to community supporters, Petsense regularly donated pet food that had reached its sell-by date to The Feral Dogs of Avondale Mills. The store also provided discontinued pet food products to the Sylacauga Animal Shelter, helping local organizations care for animals in need.
A storewide closeout sale began on Friday, July 24 and is expected to continue in the coming weeks as the location prepares to wind down operations.
Community members are being encouraged to take advantage of the sale and consider purchasing pet food or supplies for donation to local animal rescue groups and shelters that have benefited from Petsense’s support over the years.
