ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Braves captured their sixth Eastern Division Title in a row for the National League on Wednesday night, and how fitting it was that they accomplished this feat in Philadelphia where the Braves saw it all end last year.
Here are some things for you to chew on.
In 2021, when the Braves won the World Series, they didn’t lead the division until September. This year was pure domination as they lead from wire-to-wire since the first week of the season.
They are the first team in Major League Baseball to punch their ticket to the postseason in 2023, and if you were thinking that maybe the New York Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers were the all time leaders of division titles, think again.
It’s the Atlanta Braves with 23 to lead all baseball franchises in Major League Baseball history.
The Braves are now 96-50 as they head into Miami tonight. They have an eight game lead over the Dodgers for the best record in the National League and a five game lead over the Baltimore Orioles for the best record overall. This with just 16 games remaining in the season.
Although the Braves have now won 20 out of the last 32 divisional titles, they only have two World Series rings to show for it.
So CHOP CHOP, let’s keep it going through the postseason!
