SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A 20-year-old Sylacauga man was shot and killed Friday night.
According to the Sylacauga Police Department, At approximately 8:30 Friday night, officers responded to the area of Inglewood Drive in the
Drew Court Housing Community in reference to gunshots in the area. When officers arrived in the area they were waved down by residents in the area of the intersection of N. Main Avenue and Sherwood Drive. Officers located 20 year old Ja’Drean Mondrell Dykes suffering from multiple
gunshot wounds. Dykes was pronounced deceased at the scene by Talladega County Coroner
SPD said its investigators responded to the scene to gather evidence and photographs. Investigators have interviewed family members and witnesses trying to determine a motive and anything that could lead to the killer(s) responsible for taking the life of Dykes.
