SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company’s production of “The Wind in the Willows” is just one week away from its opening night on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the B.B. Comer High School auditorium.

Directed by Patrick McDonald, with musical direction by Janie Giddens and choreography by Shaylyn Vick, the musical adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s beloved novel follows the adventures of Mole, a curious girl who leaves her underground home to explore the world. Alongside the kindhearted Water Rat and the eccentric Mr. Toad — whose obsession with motor cars leads to trouble — Mole and her new friends embark on a journey filled with humor and adventure.

Public performances are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1 and Friday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m., with a matinee on Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance for $15 here, by calling (256) 245-1669, or by visiting their studios at 109 N. Broadway Ave. in Sylacauga. Tickets at the door will be $20.

Sponsored by the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Alabama Art4AL, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Terminix, this production brings together a talented cast and crew to bring the classic tale to life.
