SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Farmers Market experienced a strong summer season that extended into September, with a significant increase in vendors.
After a brief break, the market will return Friday, Oct. 16, and run through Friday, Nov. 13. The market will remain at Central Park in Sylacauga and operate from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The market will continue to provide area seniors with an opportunity to use Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program cards issued by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries.
The local farmers market program is administered by the Alabama Farmers Market Authority and aims to facilitate the marketing of agricultural products directly from farms to consumers. The program helps consumers access quality products at reasonable prices while ensuring producers receive a fair return. It also provides a convenient, dependable location for farmers and buyers to connect regularly.
