GREATER COOSA VALLEY, Ala. – Families in the Greater Coosa Valley region can truly celebrate Independence Day with all sorts of family-friendly events on the schedule that include fireworks, starting late this week and running all the way through next week.

That all gets started with Sylacauga’s huge holiday event in Central Park from Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union and the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce. It runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28. There’ll be an inflatable slide, Foam Frenzy, plenty of food trucks, and of course, a great fireworks show after dark.

On Sunday, June 30, Main Street in Wilsonville hosts the God & Country Community Event from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Music, food, fellowship, inflatables, and fireworks are planned.

On Independence Day itself, Oxford goes all-in with an all-day affair at the Oxford Civic Center and Oxford Lake. The family fun runs from 8:00 a.m. all the way to 10:00 p.m.

Among the many attractions will be an antique car show, loads of craft and food vendors, carnival games, a big parade, petting zoo, swimming and swim races. To climax the big day, enjoy a firework show over Oxford Lake.

Friday Night Lights – Picnic & Fireworks at the Farm is set for Friday, July 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 3083 Coosa County Rd., Sylacauga. There’ll be live music and line dancing. It’s a “Bring Your Own” picnic and chairs event with a fireworks show.

Cropwell’s Rivers Edge Marina hosts a holiday extravaganza on Saturday, July 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It will be held at 79 Rabbit Branch Circle in Cropwell. They’ll feature live music, food trucks, and sweet treats along with swimming and playground fun as well as a fireworks show.
