SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On May 12th Jimmy Reynolds Jr., hosted an art show at the Board of Education to showcase the art of his students and the upperclassmen to teachers, family, and board members.
This art display was a showcase for upperclassmen to be able to show off their creative abilities. Although purposely small because of COVID-19 restrictions, Reynolds stated, “It was a success for the advanced students at the high school and their families.” Some of the students involved were Kalisha Hill, Brielle Hay, Emily Porch, Amelia Troster, Torrington Jennings, and Leslie Castillo whose artwork will be displayed throughout the high school and board.
Future shows will be held district-wide at the Comer Museum, which will have its grand re-opening on May 20.
Students who would like to be involved in the future are encouraged to take Mr. Reynolds’ art or career tech class which involves photography. Although no photography was involved in the art show this year, Reynolds says he would like to incorporate more photography in the future.
Although the display was quiet small this year, lookout for future art shows showcasing the talent of the students at Sylacauga High School.
