ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – Central Alabama Community College recognized student achievement across its campuses during the school’s 2026 Honors Program on Sunday, April 26 at the Alexander City campus.
The annual ceremony celebrated excellence in academics, leadership, athletics, service, innovation, and campus involvement among students from throughout the college system.
Central Alabama Community College President Jeff Lynn opened the event by congratulating students for their accomplishments during the academic year.
“We are so honored to have talented students that excel in all these areas of focus,” Lynn said. “We are extremely proud of them all.”
Students recognized through the college’s Mission 20 to the International Space Station initiative included Noah White, Allie Scott, Benton Stegall, Adeline Benton, and Gracie Deason.
Project MFG honorees included national championship finalists Jorge Soto-Rojas and Ashton Williams, along with regional finalists Tristan Wood, Zane Williams, and Matt Cost.
Phi Theta Kappa recognitions included Rebekah Burton being named to the All-USA Academic Team and receiving New Century Scholar honors. Burton and White were also named to the All-Alabama Academic Team, while White received recognition as a Hites Transfer Scholar.
The college also recognized students involved in peer tutoring and chapter leadership projects, including Kylie Davis, Chloe Russek, and Luke Hanks.
Student of the Month honorees included Shalunda Price, Romney Henry, Olvin Castillo, Jenna Hurley, Aaron Lewis, and Mae Meadows.
Athletic Excellence awards were presented to Russell Copous for baseball, Logan Bese for men’s tennis, Colbie Horne for women’s tennis, and Easton Haworth for golf.
Special honors were also awarded through the Trojan Spirit, Trojan Service, and Trojan Leadership programs, which recognize campus involvement, community service, and leadership.
Burton received the Overall Trojan Leadership Award for her contributions to the college.
College representatives said the ceremony highlighted the students’ perseverance, leadership, and commitment to their communities both inside and outside the classroom.
Officials said the honors program reflects the college’s mission to encourage academic achievement while developing leaders who positively impact their campuses, workplaces, and communities throughout central Alabama for years to come.
