MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Gov. Kay Ivey has appointed Chad Joiner to serve as Talladega County Probate Judge. The appointment was effective on Feb. 25 for a term ending in January 2025, and Joiner is to be sworn in by Circuit Judge Chad Woodruff on Thursday, March 3, in Talladega.
Joiner is a 20-year resident of Talladega County and a Clay County native.
“As one of my appointees, you will be making important decisions that directly affect the citizens of Alabama,” the Governor wrote. “The responsibility that comes with this appointment is not to be taken lightly. I trust that you will rise to the occasion and set a standard for others to follow.”
“I am excited and honored by this appointment, ready to step in, provide stability, and move forward,” Joiner told SylacaugaNews.com.
Joiner began a 26-year law enforcement career as an Alexander City police officer before joining the Alabama State Troopers, where he served the last decade as a Detail Leader in Protective Services and during which time he was elected to serve as Vice President of the National Governors Security Association’s Southern States Division. He was member of the Alabama State Trooper SWAT team, a Field Training Officer, and Public Information Officer.
Alabama’s Office of the Judiciary removed Probate Judge Randy Jinks from office last October.
