SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council met Tuesday night, Sept. 19, at 6:00 p.m. with a work session prior to the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the Sylacauga City Council accepted and authorized Mayor Jim Heigl to sign the FY24 Memorandum of Agreement with the Alabama Department of Public Health in the amount of $12,000.
They also approved and authorized Mayor Heigl to sign the FY24 Airport Pre-Application for a project titled “Construction of the Taxiway Rehabilitation” with a city match of $70,000.
The council authorized alcohol sales by Fermenter’s Food Truck at the approved Parks and Recreation special event “BBQ and Blues Festival” on Nov. 18, 2023 contingent on the Alabama Beverage Control (ABC) board approval of alcohol sales.
They accepted and authorized Mayor Heigl to sign the Cintas Service Agreement renewal.
A refund was approved for zoning appeal fees in the amount of $400 for property located at 215 S Cannon Ave. The Board of Adjustment and Appeals has determined the request does not meet the requirements as set out in Section 11-52-80 (d)(3) Code of Alabama 1975.
The city council approved September Accounts Payable invoices in the amount of $147,324.16.
The next meeting of the Sylacauga City Council is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023.
