SYLACAUGA, Ala. – May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, and AltaPointe Health is stepping up to support the cause locally.
On Saturday, May 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the community is invited to join the “Stepping Up for Mental Health” event at Central Park, located across from Blue Bell Creameries.
Organized by AltaPointe Health and The Stepping Up Initiative, this event is about raising awareness on mental health issues while providing a day of family-friendly activities.
Attendees can delve into understanding AltaPointe Health’s programs, including Adult Outpatient Services, Children and Adolescent Programs, and Substance Abuse Services, among others.
Additionally, there will be live entertainment, including performances by “The Music Man” DJ Weechie and members of the Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company.
Families can enjoy a variety of activities in the kid’s fun zone, including water slides, face painting, and horseback riding.
Food trucks will be on-site, offering a diverse selection of treats, including Hope’s Shaved Ice, Nik-Nak Candy Shack, Bulldog BBQ, Qwik Chick, and Mac’s 1 Catering. Additionally, free Blue Bell Ice Cream will be available while supplies last.
