SYLACAUGA, Ala. – At the Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) 2023 Winter meeting, Sylacauga’s Phillip Morris was unanimously elected as the new Vice Chair of Alabama’s Congressional District Three.
He was selected by ALGOP State Executive Committee members that represent Third District counties.
Morris most recently served as Talladega County District Five Commissioner when he took the seat in November 2020.
He has accumulated over 20 years of public service including stints as a Sylacauga City Council member, Chairman of Sylacauga’s Planning and Zoning Commission, and volunteer firefighter with the Oak Grove VFD.
Morris is the owner of Morris Custom Marble & Granite, a 40-year, family-owned business. He and his wife, Robin, live in Sylacauga and have two children and two grandchildren.
