SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga man is dead after being shot early Tuesday morning.
According to a press release from the Sylacauga Police Department, 44-year-old Curtis Chadwick Jackson was gunned down just after midnight Tuesday in the Sylacauga Housing Authority area of Drew Court.
Sylacauga Police Chief Kelley Johnson said units first responded to calls of gun shots and were then notified of a shooting victim. Paramedics were notified and transported the victim to Coosa Valley Medical Center where he later passed away.
Investigators are pursuing the case as a homicide. Johnson explained he does have a list of suspects, but he cannot release the names at this time. He also said those involved are not from the Drew Court area.
