SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet for the first time this month tomorrow on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

The following items are set to be discussed:

  1. Resolution 77-2018 authorizing Change Order #2 to Sylacauga Street Paving Project (EEFS Project #1944-17) with Dunn Construction Co., Inc., adding Talladega County’s portions of Avondale Avenue and West 10th Street in the amount of $79,408.10.
  2. Resolution authorizing agreement for use of Oak Grove’s fire trucks(s) while City’s truck is being repaired (due to auto accident), if ready.
  3. Application from Todd J. Adams, Dennis C. Farr, and Charles S. Dobson, members of SCC LLC, DBA Sylacauga Country Club located at 1 Fairway Drive in Sylacauga for Special Retail – More Than 30 Days Alcohol License.
  4. Re-appointment to Tree Commission – five-year term of Bill Roberts expired June, 2018.
  5. Re-appointment to Tree Commission – five-year term of John Wesson expired June, 2018.
  6. Re-appointment to Utilities Board – six-year term of Dale Baker expired July 15, 2018.
  7. Re-appointment to Airport Authority – six-year term of Wade Pruitt expired August 14, 2018.
  8. Re-appointment to Library Board – four-year term of Lewis Robinson expiring October, 2018.
  9. Re-appointment to Parks and Recreation Board – five-year term of Stephen Lewis expiring October, 2018.
  10. Re-appointment to Parks and Recreation Board – five-year term of Blaine Green expiring October, 2018.
  11. Approve expenses for HR Specialist Jayne McGee to attend the LGHIP Payroll Clerk and Administrator Conference in Cullman Oct. 11, 2018.  No registration fee. Expense for a meal will be incurred. McGee will be carpooling with Sandy Sorensen. Estimated expense for McGhee is $15.
  12. Approve expenses for Accounting Clerk Kristi Thompson to attend the LGHIP Payroll Clerk and Administrator Conference in Cullman Oct. 11, 2018. No registration fee. Expense for a meal will be incurred. Thompson will be carpooling with Sorensen and McGee. Estimated expense for Thompson is $15.
  13. Approve expenses for City Clerk/Treasurer Patricia Carden to attend the Alabama City County Management Association’s ‘Laws and Ethics for Public Management’ to be held in Prattville Dec. 13-14, 2018. Registration fee is $195. Expenses for lodging, mileage, and meals will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Carden are $458.
  14. Approve expenses for City Clerk’s Administrative Assistant Kim Morris to attend the Alabama City County Management Association’s ‘Laws and Ethics for Public Management’ to be held in Prattville Dec. 13-14, 2018. Registration fee is $195. Expenses for lodging and meals will be incurred. Morris will be carpooling with Carden. Total estimated expenses for Morris are $398.
  15. Additional Accounts Payable received for September in the amount of $362,635.79.
  16. Accounts Payable received to date for October in the amount of $37,175.09.

A work session will be held at 5:00 p.m. with the Council meeting following at 6:00 p.m. All members of the community are invited to attend. The next regular meeting will be held Oct. 16, 2018.
