INVERNESS, Ala. – After 86 years of cherished service along Hwy 280, a local eatery icon, Lloyd’s Restaurant, is bidding farewell to its Inverness location.
In a heartfelt announcement made on Monday, Sept. 25, the establishment shared the news via social media that its Inverness branch would close its doors for the final time on Sunday, Oct. 15.
In a somber but grateful message on their official Facebook page, Lloyd’s Restaurant conveyed their sadness, saying, “It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we must share some difficult news. We regret to inform you that Lloyd’s Restaurant Inverness will be closing its doors, and the last day we will be open is Oct. 15.”
However, Lloyd’s loyalists need not despair, as the Sylacauga location will continue to serve the same beloved cuisine and uphold the high standard of service that customers for so many years have come to expect.
Lloyd’s Restaurant has a rich history, dating back to its founding in Chelsea in 1937 by Lloyd Chesser, after whom it was named. While the Inverness location has been a part of that community for nearly 45 years, the business is eager to continue its legacy in Sylacauga.
As the Inverness location prepares to say goodbye, the Sylacauga community is looking forward to enjoying Lloyd’s Restaurant for many meals to come.
