SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council will meet Thursday night at Sylacauga City Hall.
The meeting was moved from Tuesday to Thursday due to Monday’s holiday.
The following items are on the council agenda:
- Public hearing regarding proposed annexation of properties located at 881 Marble City Heights Circle, 495 Odens Mill Rd, 473 Odens Mill Rd, 207 Pine Street (Walco), 55 Farr Lane, 26 Jackson Ave, 6720 Al Hwy 21, 215 Memory Ln, 1014 Odena Rd South, 148 Brooks Rd, 310 Marble City Heights Circle, 152 Autumn Acres Ln, 324 St. John St, 185 Fulton Circle, 205 Fulton Circle, 215 Fulton Circle, 275 Houston Rd, 3940 Old Sylacauga Hwy, and 345 Mountainview Lake Rd. (Public hearing set by Resolution 45-2019 on 8-20-19). Ordinance 2215-19 required.
- Resolution 56-2019 authorizing application for FY20 Airport Improvement Project to replace airport rotating beacon and tower at a total estimated cost of $100,000.00. Requires a 5% local match.
- Set date for public hearing of proposed zoning ordinance as recommended by the Planning Commission.
- Authorization to renew Interpreter Service Agreement with Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind effective Oct. 1, 2019, through Sept. 30, 2020.
- Authorization to transfer utility billing to Comer Library for the sprinkler system on library grounds.
- Approve travel/expenses for Councilman Dallas Davenport, Accountant Yourlanda Burns, and CC Administrative Assistant Kim Morris to attend the Alabama Department of Revenue meeting with Local Governments to be held in Hoover Oct. 16, 2019. No registration fee. Expenses for mileage and a meal will be incurred. Total estimated expenses are $100.
- Approve travel/expenses for City Clerk Patricia Carden to attend the Annual Conference for Municipal Clerks and Administrators to be held in Gulf Shores December 4-6, 2019. Registration fee is $285. Additional expenses for lodging, mileage, and meals will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Carden are $1,195.63.
- Approve travel/expenses for CC Administrative Assistant Kim Morris to attend the Annual Conference for Municipal Clerks and Administrators to be held in Gulf Shores Dec. 4-6, 2019. Registration fee is $285. Additional expenses for lodging, mileage, and meals will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Morris are $1,195.63.
- Approve travel/expenses for Accountant Yourlanda Burns to attend the Alabama City County Management Association’s Certificate Program – Leadership and Effective Public Management course in Prattville, Nov. 14-15, 2019. Registration fee is $225. Additional expenses for mileage will be incurred. Total estimated expenses for Burns is $356.68.
- Additional Accounts Payable invoices received to date for September in the amount of $41,624.19.
- Accounts Payable invoices received to date for October in the amount of $55,370.98.
- September payroll in the amount of $428,375.68.
The meeting will begin at 5:00. A work session will precede the meeting.
