Rain dampened the annual Sunshine Saturday in Sylacauga

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The weather forecast coming true took away a lot of the sunny sky at this year’s annual Sunshine Saturday event in Sylacauga over the weekend, but it was still a successful fundraiser event for The Arc of South Talladega County.

The annual Mothers Day Plant Sale went fairly well, considering a much sparser crowd. Randy Gill and Crossfire provided the traditional Sunshine Saturday music throughout the day from the Blue Bell Pavilion.

What is normally a sea of vendors was reduced to a dozen or so brave souls that came prepared for inclement weather, yet the adoptable puppies didn’t seem to notice the occasional downpours.

It certainly wasn’t the hoped-for weather, but it was still Sunshine Saturday in a lot of the ways that matter.
