OAK GROVE, Ala. – A 27-year-old convenience store clerk was killed in a Wednesday night robbery at the Crown Service Station on the Old Birmingham Highway. Talladega County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Sri Satya Krishna Chitturi unresponsive at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An undetermined amount of currency was taken from the store, and Chitturi’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Investigators are seeking any information on the suspect described as a black male, approximately 6’ to 6’2”, with a slender build wearing black clothing and black and white Nike shoes carrying an Air Jordan backpack.
