Sylacauga woman killed after being struck by two vehicles

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga woman was killed early Friday morning, Sept. 11 after being struck by two vehicles in a crash in Talladega County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

41-year old Lakeita D. Fulks was fatally injured at about 4:45 a.m. on Friday when she was struck by a 2012 Chrysler 200 driven by Shamea L. Pearson, 24, of Goodwater.

After the initial collision, Fulks was struck by a 2015 Toyota Tacoma driven by Hugh M. Taylor, 50, of Sylacauga. Fulks was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on Goodwater Hwy near Brent Brook Ln., about one mile south of Sylacauga’s city limits.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate. No further information was available.
