GoFundMe campaign launched to support family of recent Sylacauga accidental shooting victim

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In the wake of the tragic accident that occurred in Sylacauga on Monday, Aug. 21, at the Chevron Hop-In convenience store, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Pankaj Pankaj Rana’s grieving family.

Pankaj, a 22-year-old from Haryana, India, met an untimely demise when a firearm, used by the store’s employees for self-protection, accidentally discharged.

The campaign will attempt to alleviate the financial burden on Pankaj’s family in India, who must now prepare funeral arrangements.

Pankaj’s father had previously taken out a loan to secure his son’s departure to the U.S.
