BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four Central Alabama Community College (CACC) employees were recognized with awards at the Alabama Community College Association (ACCA) Conference in Birmingham on Sunday, Nov. 18.
These CACC staff members were selected based on their commitment to the hard work and success of their students.
Each registered college was asked to submit one employee in the administrator category, one employee in the support staff category, and two employees in the faculty category.
The following four CACC employees won Chancellor’s Awards at the conference:
Outstanding Administrator – Leslie Mitchell
Outstanding Support Staff – Sharon Humphrey
Outstanding Academic Faculty – James Hurst
Outstanding Technical Faculty – Michael White
Sharon Humphrey works as a financial aid assistant on the Alex City campus, Leslie Mitchell is a student services specialist and ADA coordinator on the Childersburg campus, James Hurst is a history instructor, and Michael White is an electronics technology instructor.
“We are very blessed to have the best faculty and staff,” CACC president Jeff Lynn stated. “I’m so proud of Sharon, Leslie, James, and Michael. They go above and beyond what is required to make sure our students have the best experience possible.”
All employees have the opportunity to nominate who they feel deserves to be recognized. Once the nominees in each category are narrowed down, employees have the opportunity to vote for one in each category.
“Our goal at CACC is to be better today than yesterday,” Lynn added. “I can’t thank all of our employees enough for their hard work and dedication every day to make CACC the best community college.”
