FAYETTEVILLE, Ala. – For the second time within a week, the Fayetteville Lady Wolves Volleyball team had a player ink a letter of intent to continue at the next level.

This time, it was senior Halie Jo DeLoach signing with Stillman College in Tuscaloosa.

It was nothing short of incredible the stats DeLoach compiled in her high school career. She had 390 receptions, 293 digs, 203 kills, 29 assists, 9 blocks, 70 aces, and an astonishing 97.3 percent serving accuracy.

If that’s not enough, she also played in all 103 sets this last season. DeLoach served as a great leader, and she was awarded for that as she won the 2023-2024 MVP for her team.

Ginger McArthur, Head Volleyball Coach at Fayetteville High School, said, “Halie Jo has been such a positive influence not only on our team but also to our program. [She’s] showing young players that hard work in the classroom and on the court will pay off in the long run.”

Teresa Franks, Head Volleyball Coach at Stillman College, said, “When I was named head coach this year, I only had a list of names to recruit. When I watched a full game of Halie Jo, I knew that Stillman College needed her. She will get early playing time, and I just pray that she will succeed in her collegiate career just like her high school one. Her court presence is at a high level.”

Halie Jo said, “I love the campus at Stillman. It has that small town atmosphere like Fayetteville. I want to be a physical therapist when I graduate.”

DeLoach’s favorite thing to do on the volleyball court is to block a shot from an opposing player. However, she says that her best attribute is either serving or passing.

Halie Jo DeLoach has excelled in the classroom as well as the court. Being a straight-A student, she has also received a Presidential Scholarship from Stillman valued at over $10,000.
