BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Linda and Jim Jones, founders of Alabama Childhood Food Solutions, were recently honored as recipients of the prestigious 2024 Samford Medallion Awards, presented by Samford University.
The Samford Medallion, among the highest honors bestowed by the university, recognizes individuals whose efforts significantly impact society, community affairs, church missions, and individual lives.
Established in 1841, Samford University acknowledged the Joneses’ 13-year commitment to combating childhood hunger throughout Central Alabama.
During the ceremony which was emceed by CBS 42’s David Lamb, Samford’s Board of Trustees presented the Medallions to four recipients.
Linda and Jim Jones were joined by Carolyn Green Satterfield, founder of Alabama Governor’s School, and Chris Yarboro, Executive Director of Community Furniture Bank, as fellow 2024 Medallion recipients.
