SYLACAUGA, Ala. – First Baptist Church of Sylacauga celebrated a special milestone this past weekend, according to Pastor Rick Patrick.

“Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, was exactly 112 years to the day since we held our first service in this sanctuary in 1914,” Patrick said.

The historic church and its congregation have played significant roles in the Marble City throughout the years. The current sanctuary, which has served the congregation for more than a century, is the church’s fifth sanctuary since its founding in 1833.
