ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. – The Alexander City School system has announced the appointment of Dr. Jimmy Lee Thomas as the new principal of Alexander City Middle School.
The school district is confidant in Thomas’ ability to lead, and highlighted his extensive background in education and successful track record in promoting academic excellence in a press release issued last week.
Over the course of his 24-year career in education, Thomas has held various positions at multiple schools including as an assistant principal at B.B. Comer.
Thomas most recently served as the principal at Genesis Alternative Education Center, a public school situated within the Talladega County School district in Alpine. During his time there, he demonstrated a commitment to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Upon appointment in his new role, Dr. Thomas shared his enthusiasm for cultivating a culture of academic achievement, personal growth, and community engagement.
He expressed eagerness to work alongside the dedicated teachers and staff of Alexander City Middle School to provide students with an exceptional educational experience.
