SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation will host its annual Back to School Bash on Friday, July 31, offering families a free evening of entertainment, activities, and school-supply assistance ahead of the new academic year.
The event is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Noble Park and will feature live music, recreational activities, and the distribution of free school supplies to local children.
DJ Weechie will provide music throughout the evening, while children can enjoy an inflatable attraction, the recently renovated playground, and the park’s skate park. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend the evening at the community gathering.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Papa Queso’s food truck and Sips Dirty Sodas.
A centerpiece of the event will be the fifth annual Peyton Embry School Supply Giveaway, organized by Decorey Hale and The BlueHeart Foundation 334. The giveaway is designed to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year by providing essential classroom supplies.
Sylacauga Parks and Recreation officials said the department is proud to continue its partnership with The BlueHeart Foundation and its supporters as the program continues to grow. Additional sponsors include Coco’s Tax Service, The Right Step in Motion, the Forever 24 Jordan L. Mathews Memorial Foundation, and A & B Party Rentals.
Organizers noted that children must be present with a parent or guardian to receive school supplies.
The Back to School Bash aims to celebrate the end of summer while helping students begin the school year prepared and confident.
