SYLACAUGA, Ala. – With the Iron Bowl coming up in a few days, is there a better way to kick off the weekend than with an Alabama vs. Auburn golf tournament for the fans?
The first “Bama vs. Auburn Fan Golf Outing” will take place this Friday, Nov. 29th at 12:00 p.m. at the Sylacauga Country Club.
“Some people go over-the-top and go overboard and even cross the line with some of this Iron Bowl stuff, ” said President of the B.B. Comer Alumni Association Randy Caine. “I’m just trying to keep it a fun get-together with a few laughs and enjoy ourselves and maybe raise a little bit of money for B.B. Comer.”
According to Caine, participants will pay the country club like they are just coming to play a normal round of golf, but they are asked to make a $5 donation to the B.B. Comer Alumni Association.
Caine will be at the Country Club at 10 a.m. on Friday morning with a table to sign everybody up, and he advises everybody to wear their Alabama or Auburn gear.
Although the proceeds from the event go to B.B. Comer, Caine says that the tournament is open to everyone.
The tournament will be a four man scramble. For more info on a four man scramble click here.
