Alabama CICT Board awards $20,000 to the Childersburg High School Building Construction program

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – The Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training (CICT) Board is inviting applications for training programs aimed at nurturing skilled craftsmen and commercial construction workers.

With a focus on helping Alabama’s workforce, the CICT Board is dedicated to meeting the rising demand for expertise in the construction industry.

The Childersburg High School (CHS) Building Construction program has clinched the inaugural $20,000 CICT Program Grant. This grant will furnish the program with essential curriculum, consumable materials, and tools.

Notably, this initiative marks a significant step towards bridging the gap between high school construction programs and the commercial construction industry, ultimately paving the way for prospective employment opportunities for students.

The CHS Building Construction program serves students from B.B. Comer, Childersburg, Fayetteville, and Winterboro.

Talladega County Schools would like to extend their gratitude to Brasfield & Gorrie, McLain Construction Company, and Diversified Plumbing for their support towards the South Talladega County Building Construction Program.
