PELL CITY, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash on Kelly Creek Road near Piney Wood Road approximately 14 miles north of the Pell City city limits has claimed the life of a 19-year-old from Alpine.
The youth, a passenger in a 2006 Honda Accord which left the roadway and struck a tree, died in a hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash at approximately 1:33 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1. The driver, 23-year-old Orlandez Dewaunte Harris of Childersburg, was injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
