SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE) is having its 6th annual Dinner Under the Stars event in two weeks.
This event is to bring awareness to and highlight what SAFE does with the Sylacauga Grow Community Garden behind the office.
“This is different from some of the other events around town in that there isn’t a sit down program necessarily,” said Summer Ernest, the coordinator for the event. “It’s a great time to just talk with friends and enjoy the music and atmosphere with it being outside. What makes this special is it being outside in a garden. It’s something everyone looks forward to, and I think it just gets better and better each year.”
The dinner will be catered by Hickory Street Cafe. Rocky Lucas will be providing live entertainment for the night, and there will be a dance floor in front of the stage. “You can dance, eat, do whatever you want to do,” said Ernest. A cash bar will be available, as well. Tickets are $20 per person or a table can be reserved for $150 to seat eight people. “A table is great for friends, family, or a club to all sit together and save a little money that way,” said Ernest.
Tickets are available at the SAFE office, or call (256) 245-4343. There is a limited number of tickets because there is a limited number of space in the garden. This event sells out every year, so get your tickets in plenty of time. The dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2018. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new meditation garden, The Mind, Body, and Spirit Pathway Garden, will be held prior to the dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m.
