Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce ramping up Christmas festivities

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – If you’re looking for opportunities to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, there are plenty of chances upcoming in Sylacauga to do so.

The Chamber of Commerce members have been hard at work to provide a festive atmosphere throughout December for Sylacauga’s residents and visitors to enjoy. The merriment will kick off this Saturday, Dec. 4, as the Chamber presents the Christmas Market.

The Christmas Market is a day-long event that begins at approximately 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m. as long as the weather permits. It will be held at Central Park across from Blue Bell Creameries.

The park will be packed with a plethora of activities including stations for ornament decoration, gift wrapping, and face painting, food trucks galore, live performances, and an inflatable slide and snow globe. Then in the late afternoon, the tree lighting will commence followed by the showing of a Christmas film.

Don’t fret that the holidays will be condensed into a single day. On Thursday, Dec. 9, the annual Christmas Parade will take to the streets.

From marching bands to massive floats to Father Christmas himself, a line of Christmas cheer will make its way down North Broadway Ave. onto Fort Williams St. for all onlookers to see.

The parade is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
