SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation will celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated Beth Yates Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, at 50 W Spring St.
The renovated park features new playground equipment, including a larger play structure with physical challenges and ADA-compliant elements designed for children ages eight and younger. Additional amenities include covered adaptive parent-and-child swings, bucket swings, standard swings, and an inclusive whirl.
The project also included the installation of new sidewalks, turf, and landscaping.
Following the ribbon cutting, Batman will be on site for Storytime with Friends at 10:00 a.m. under the pavilion. Pelican’s SnoBalls will provide complimentary treats for attendees, and A & B Party Rentals will offer a bounce house during the celebration.
Beth Yates Park will be open to the public seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The park pavilion is also available to rent for events throughout the week.
