TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – A devastating multi-vehicle crash took place on Tuesday, May 16, at approximately 5:20 p.m., resulting in the loss of a life.
Dana M. Foster, a 74-year-old woman from Lincoln, was fatally injured in the incident.
She was being transported as a patient in a 2013 Ford F-350 ambulance which collided head-on with a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Jim Horsley, a 35-year-old resident of Pell City.
Following the initial collision, the ambulance also struck a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Elizabeth Walker, a 40-year-old from Eastaboga, and a 2023 Honda CRV driven by Sharon Haynes, a 51-year-old from Lincoln.
Dominic Williams, a 23-year-old from Gardendale, who was driving the Ford F-350, and the on-board paramedic, Patrick Ramsey, a 21-year-old from Clanton, were both taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Walker and Haynes were also transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on Hwy 21 near the 219 mile marker, approximately five miles north of Sylacauga.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
