SYLACAUGA, Ala. – SylacaugaNews.com, 98.3 Fox FM, KiX 100.3 and Yea!106.5 present the Fourth Annual Stuff the Bus Food and Toy drive benefiting Alabama Childhood Food Solutions (AFCS) and the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement (SAFE).

Last year’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ set a new record for food and toys donated. Over 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food items were donated and there was enough food to feed 144 families for one week each. The amount of toys donated were able to serve 176 children from 103 families.

If the trend stays the same, this year’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ year will eclipse the mark set a year ago. Every year since its inauguration in 2016, the food and toy drive has improved on its numbers.

The charity event was recognized for its community service and has been recognized with a state award from the Alabama Broadcasters Association.

“It is extremely important for us to show our commitment to the community especially during this time of the year,” stated Michael Brannon, Executive Vice President of RadioAlabama. “Investing our time, resources and energy into assisting local charities is important to RadioAlabama.”

The drive began Wednesday, Dec. 4, and will run through Friday, Dec. 13. You can donate non-perishable food items and toys to those in need this holiday season. This year’s big, yellow school bus can be found in the parking lot behind Chick-fil-A off of Hwy. 280.

“We hope the Fourth Annual Stuff the Bus Food and Toy drive will be the best we have ever had because it continues to grow and become more successful,” said Brannon. “It is extremely encouraging to see the outpouring of love from so many in and around the surrounding areas.”

The sponsors for the event this year are Vaden Toyota of Sylacauga, Allen Brew Market, Heritage South Credit Union, MainStreet Family Urgent Care, Chick-Fil-A and RadioAlabama.
