SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Cheaha District of the Greater Alabama Council of the Boy Scouts of America will be awarding two Sylacauga men with the Heart of an Eagle Award at this year’s American Values Breakfast.
Mr. Earl R. Lewis. and Mr. Glenn C. Sisk will be the recipients of the award at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, at First United Methodist Church in Sylacauga.
Lewis is the Director of Care House of Sylacauga, and has been in that position since 1997. Previously, Lewis served as Athletic Director at the Sylacauga Recreation Department and a coach and teacher at Sylacauga City Schools.
Sisk currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, and has been there since 2001.
The Heart of and Eagle Award recognizes deserving individuals who have demonstrated leadership, character, and integrity in their service to the community, their profession, and their country. It symbolizes strength and compassion and demonstrates that leadership and philanthropy go hand-in-hand in serving your fellow man.
Former University of Alabama quarterback, John Parker Wilson, will be a guest speaker at the breakfast and will present the keynote address.
“This is very important because it goes to help the scouting programs in the area with books, uniforms, camper shifts and registration fees for our local scouts,” said Senior Cheaha District Executive Scotty Parker.
