SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Tuesday afternoon, underneath a giant American flag, two of Sylacauga’s fallen first responders were honored as they were brought home.

On Sunday, a Lifesaver 4 medical assistance helicopter from Sylacauga crashed in Shelby County, tragically killing two people on board and leaving the third in critical condition. Livesaver pilot Marc Gann & EMS nurse Adam Russell were brought to Sylacauga.

Tuesday afternoon’s processional consisted of numerous local, country, state law enforcement and medical vehicles and fire apparatuses. A large American flag hung over Hwy. 280 at the intersection of Ft. Williams St. as the fallen entered the city.

Gann, of Sylacauga, was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday. Russell, of Goodwater, was taken to a local hospital where he later passed away. Flight paramedic Amanda Daniels was also on the flight and remains in critical condition, but she is expected to recover.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
