Talladega woman killed in early morning hit-and-run on Alabama Highway 21 (UPDATED)

TALLADEGA, Ala. – A Talladega woman was killed in Sunday morning traffic accident.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Carolyn Ragland of Talladega, age 50, was standing or walking in the northbound lanes of Alabama Highway 21, three miles north of Talladega, when hit by a vehicle at 2:30 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a silver or gray four-door midsize car with windshield damage left the scene.

Anyone who could assist with information should contact the Alabama State Troopers at 256-435-3521. An investigation continues.

UPDATE: On Monday, July 31, officers with the Talladega Police Department located the vehicle believed to have been involved. State Troopers are in possession of the vehicle and are continuing to search for the driver.
