Sylacauga to observe the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The National Day of Prayer has been observed in the United States for more than 70 years on the first Thursday in May, though national calls to prayer date back to the 1770s.

Residents in the Sylacauga area will have an opportunity to participate locally as the community gathers at Sylacauga City Hall’s flag pole at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7 to pray for the city, state, and nation.

The event is sponsored by the Coosa Valley Ministerial Association.
