Storm damage closes portion of Coaling Rd. in Sylacauga

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Early morning storms on Monday, July 27 left portions of Coaling Rd. closed after multiple trees and power lines were brought down, according to the Sylacauga Fire Department.

The closure affects Coaling Rd. from the water tower to Settlement Rd. Officials said the roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours while utility crews work to restore power and remove debris.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the road reopens. No additional information on injuries or damage was immediately available.

The Sylacauga Fire Department said updates will be provided as conditions change.
