Six arrested in Tallapoosa County drug busts spanning Friday into early Saturday

TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. – There was another series of successful drug busts from Friday, April 24, into the early morning hours of Saturday in Tallapoosa County involving the county’s Sheriff’s Department as well as the Jackson’s Gap and Alexander City Police Departments.

Six individuals – three men and three women – are facing charges of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, along with related offenses including Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Probation Violation/Revocation.

Facing charges are: Joshua Shemar Mitchell (26); Bennie Carltavious Kelly (45); Shaquita Shonte Sanders (42); Ashley Nicole Ricks (33); Lucy Sawyer Martin (27); and Bryan Allen Curlee (35).
