COOSA COUNTY, Ala. – According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a Sylacauga teenager was killed and a second injured in a two-vehicle accident in Coosa County on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
ALEA reports that a 16-year-old was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, after a 2021 Nissan Altima was struck by a tractor-trailer rig.
The accident occurred just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Coosa County Rd. 150 and US Hwy 231, about five miles south of Sylacauga.
The 15-year-old and the driver of the tractor trailer were taken to local hospitals with the teenager being airlifted to Children’s Hospital.
